We are building accessibility into the new The Ash Counselling website and are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.
What we want you to be able to do
- zoom and resize text without losing essential content;
- navigate the main website using a keyboard;
- identify links and controls through visible focus indicators;
- use headings and landmarks to understand page structure;
- use screen-reader software with meaningful labels and image descriptions; and
- access essential information without relying on colour alone.
Our accessibility approach
We use WCAG 2.2 AA as the benchmark for the website. Accessibility is considered in page structure, navigation, forms, images, colour contrast, focus states, motion and responsive layouts.
The Ash Counselling Ltd is a private service provider rather than a public-sector body. We nevertheless use WCAG 2.2 AA as a practical accessibility benchmark and recognise our wider responsibilities to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people.
Known limitations
This website is currently being rebuilt and tested. We are not claiming full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance until the deployed site has completed final manual testing, including keyboard, zoom, contrast and assistive-technology checks.
Some external booking or CRM pages are provided through third-party systems and may behave differently from the main website. If an external form creates a barrier, please contact us and we will help you access the service another way.
Tell us if you need something differently
If you cannot access part of the website, need information in another format, or want to report an accessibility problem, please contact The Ash Counselling.

Testing and review
This statement was prepared in September 2026 during the rebuild of the website. Before launch, we will complete a representative accessibility check of the deployed site and update this statement with the outcome and any known issues.
We will review the statement when significant website changes are made and periodically after launch.
