Trainee counselling

Affordable support without treating quality as an afterthought.

Our trainee counsellors are undertaking recognised professional counselling or psychotherapy training and work within regular clinical supervision.

This pathway helps us offer lower-cost counselling while maintaining structure, professional support and clear clinical oversight.

Regular clinical supervision is part of the trainee model.

Qualified counselling

More experience, when that is the better fit.

Some clients prefer to work with a qualified counsellor, and for some presenting needs we may consider this the more appropriate pathway.

Your assessment helps us consider the level of experience, modality and support that may fit best rather than asking you to work that out alone.

How matching works

You are not expected to choose from a directory of names.

01

Your needs

What brings you to counselling, what support you are looking for and what feels important clinically.

02

Therapeutic approach

Whether psychodynamic, person-centred, integrative or CBT-informed work may be appropriate.

03

Experience and fit

Relevant experience, availability, preferences and the level of counsellor experience that may suit you.

04

A regular session

Once matched, you and your counsellor agree a consistent weekly time and the therapeutic work begins.

Therapeutic approaches

Different ways of making sense of what you are experiencing.

We work across several approaches and use your assessment to help consider what may be most suitable.

01

Psychodynamic

Explores how earlier relationships, experiences and unconscious patterns may shape how you feel and relate in the present.

02

Person-centred / Humanistic

Offers a relational, non-directive space centred on your own experience, pace and capacity for growth.

03

Integrative

Draws thoughtfully from more than one therapeutic approach in response to you and what you bring.

04

CBT-informed

May include attention to patterns in thoughts, feelings and behaviours while remaining grounded in the therapeutic relationship.

Fees

Clear pricing before you begin.

The initial assessment is currently free for a limited time. Ongoing counselling fees depend on the pathway agreed after assessment.
